With a background in print magazines and digital publications, in November 2016 Yelena Fairfax left behind her desk at Bauer Media to launch Husskie – an online lifestyle magazine exploring the true lives of social media content creators. Three years later, Husskie evolved from its origins to delve into the world of ecommerce with a capsule collection of considered accessories. Husskie The Label was born.
July 2020, this evolution took another step forward with the label moving into apparel. Each collection stays true to the brand’s ethos of producing laid-back pieces adaptable for sandy days to evening sundowners. Inspiration is drawn from the effortlessly cool, the ones who can slide out of the pool with slicked back hair and sunburnt lips – grab a tinny and dance to no music.
Designed in Australia and produced in Bali, each piece is carefully considered with quality and sustainability front of mind every step of the way – from fabric choices to manufacturing processes. We work closely with the manufacturing team in Bali to ensure positive working conditions and a minimal environmental footprint. We are committed to the slow fashion movement – producing smaller collection runs made to love and last.
